Welcome to FLAGS!
FLAGS is an affiliate of the California Language Teachers' Association, a non-profit, multi-language professional membership organization.
Members of FLAGS teach languages other than English and ESL at all levels, kindergarten through university.
Membership is also open to non-language teachers who wish to support the organization and the study of languages.
FLAGS is commited to:
Promoting the study of languages and cultures as integral components of American education and society;
Encouraging respect for the diverse linguistic and cultural heritage of citizens of this country and the world;
Providing continuing education programs that help language teachers at all levels to improve the quality of their instruction;
Informing members of the latest developments in language teaching and learning;
Creating opportunities for regional language teachers to network and learn from one another;
Recognizing outstanding efforts and contributions of regional language teachers and students.
