Foreign Language Association of Greater Sacramento

Following is a list of links to organizations and other sites serving all language teachers. If you know of a site that should be included on this page, e-mail the Webmaster!

NEW! Peace Corps World Wise Schools Correspondence Match Program offers teachers the opportunity to "meet" a Peace Corps volunteer who is working abroad and receive regular correspondence from that volunteer regarding their work and the customs and culture of the area in which he or she is living. Teachers are expected to exchange at least one e-mail or letter per month (postage is the responsibility of the teacher). Many teachers write the letter collaboratively with their classes. Teachers may request a match in a certain region of the world and/or a match in an area that is French or Spanish speaking.

Wordreference.com, a dictionary offering definitions and examples in French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and English. The examples are very clear and help a student pick the appropriate sense of the word they were looking for.

Create your own web-based lessons

No HTML or web design knowledge needed! Or explore these sites to use lessons and activities created by others!

Trackstar
This site also has links to find or create rubrics, online quizzes and a student project poster.

Web worksheet wizard
Explore a few web worksheets first to see the possibilities. Then be patient with yourself as you put together your first web worksheet--the program works, but it is not quite as user-friendly as trackstar.

Quia
This site is free if you would like to use activities created by others. To create your own quizzes and games, you will need to subscribe. There is a 30-day free trial.

Web quest generator
This site guides you through creating your own webquest, BUT, you cannot save it in any form. You must print it out when you are finished. Then you can make copies for the students and they can go online with the handout and accomplish the task.
